A garden on the Nile

This last week, the weather was hot in Romania. That is why I got a bit tired of my usual fragrances and felt the need for something refreshing and soothing. I remembered I had few drops of Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil left in am old bottle and it was just the perfect fragrance at almost 40 degrees Celsius.

The perfume was launched in 2005 and as far as I can remember, I got it that year, from a trusted source in Italy, so my bottle did a journey of it’s own.

It is the second fragrance in the Hermes The Art of Living collection. The first fragrance in this collection was Un Jardin en Mediterranee, launched in 2003.

The whole line is fresh, summer suited and unisex.

The composition is very complex, and although had a lot of flowers, the overall effect is still very fresh. It is like you are having a bowl of freshly picked vegetables in a blooming flower garden.  The base notes that have also incense, cinnamon and musk give the fragrance a discreet sweet spice.

I also love the bottles from this collection. They all have that simple, elegant, straight lines of Hermes creations. Un Jardin sur le Nil has a gradient transparent green glass, creating the effect of a morning sun captured on a bottle.

Although it is in the Eau de Toilette version, the fragrance is quite long lasting and strong scented.

If you love green, fresh scents, you will love the entire Art of Living Collection from Hermes.
